Convert MP3 files to AIFF using To WAV Converter:

  1. Open 'To WAV Converter.'
  2. Select the AIFF Audio Format in Preferences / Format To WAV Converter for Mac OS - Automatic Settings allow to preserve the quality of source audio

     

  3. In the Finder, select a few MP3 files or folders containing them.

Conversion of MP3 to AIFF with preserving the quality

The AIFF/PCM is a lossless format, while MP3 is not. So, if you convert MP3 to AIFF/PCM, you get whatever imperfections existed in the MP3, meaning the AIFF won't get better. However, it is possible to avoid getting it worse.

When converting a music MP3, the default settings would do just fine. That is, AIFF Codec set to 'Automatic Selection.' To preserve quality, it is also essential to avoid resampling and remixing. Sample Rate and Channels should be 'As Source.'
